YOUR EYEWEAR PROVIDE ME A SAFE FEELING THAT I WOULD NOT BE WITHOUT
”I have been a fly fisher for more than 35 years. Being at the sea provides me with a calmness that I cannot find anywhere else. When I cast the line, everything else around me disappears. The first couple of years the fly would often end up in wrong places like trees, waterlilies or even me. It has improved a lot over time and sometimes it even ends up in a fish. This is how it was until a year ago. A zephyr and a lack of concentration was enough. My Goldhead Nymph hit my right eyelid hard. One thing was the pain, which definitely was present but faded and luckily nothing happened. But another thing was the anxiety – it took me quite some time to get over it. I work as a photo reporter and my right eye is what brings bread on my table every day. Something had to be done. Your eyewear provide me a safe feeling that I would not be without. They follow me everywhere”.
HAIL AT 200 KM/H
I have been using the Brick glasses for several years now and I am very happy with them. I bought them because they fit my face perfectly without big gaps around the frame. I am using them, besides the usual uses, for skydiving. As a skydiving instructor and coach I can tell good from bad equipment, that’s why I like the Brick so much. However, it was never put to a real test, until recently.
I used it during two World Record skydives as well as during the 2014 skydiving World Championships as a member of the German national team. Just last week completely unexpected and out of the blue, or to be more precise, out of the white, the Brick was seriously tested. I was conducting a Tandem skydive, a jump where a non-skydiver is strapped to me and my parachute in a harness. We left the plane at 4.000 meters, falling towards what looked like a thin white cloud.
The moment we entered the cloud hell broke loose. This innocent looking cloud was filled with hail! It is quite easy to image how much it hurts to hit hail with a speed of 200 km/h. I used my hands to protect the face of my tandem guest, leaving my face, as I was wearing an open face helmet, unprotected to the pouring hail. On the picture, taken approximately one hour after landing, you can see what the hail did to my face. Some of the wounds were slightly bleeding, not a nice feeling under a parachute 1.500 meters above the earth.
My complete face was severely swollen and the blunt trauma made me look like a teenager with acne for about a week. However due to the fact that I was wearing the Brick, my eyes where completely unharmed. The other tandem instructor on that jump was less lucky, as he was using standard sun glasses. One lens broke and he had to go to the hospital due to severe cuts around the eye.
Thanks for making such a safe product.
A FATEFUL MOMENT
During the first drive of the days joined hunt, I was placed on an post next to the guy, who later that day changed my life forever with a moment’s negligence. During the morning drive some roe came between us, which he fired upon. Afterwards he asked me, if he had fired too close to me. But I had not heard the shot, so I answered no – something I have regretted many times, when looking back on that fateful day.
During the third drive we were told that it was very likely that snipes were hiding in the forest, so we were all very focused. When a snipe flew from the forest, my partner mounted his gun, aimed and fired a shot as the snipe passed between us. The shot hit me in the face and the other hunters could hear how the pellets were flying among them. At first I thought that I had been hit by the wad, but when the truth dawned on me, I yelled out “I have been shot!”, and the other hunters came to my aid.
None of the other hunters wanted to tell me the extent of the injuries, but when I told them that I could not see anything on one of my eyes, they gave in and told me the truth. I had been shot in the eye and neck. The ambulance took me to Esbjerg Emergency Room, but they did not have the expertise to help, so I was rushed to Odense. Unfortunately the doctors were not able to save the sight of the affected eye.
In spite of my hunting accident I still hunt, and I enjoy every minute of it. However my accident has taught me a lot, and I never go hunting without my Wiley X eyewear, because I need to protect what I have got left. I am thankful that I am still alive, and I try to stay positive and enjoy every day although losing vision on one eye is a major loss – but it could have gone much worse. Finally I advise all hunters and clay shooters to think about the consequences and remember to always wear safety glasses, when going hunting or when enjoying a day at the shooting range.
DESPITE THE BLUNT TRUMA AND SOME INJURIES TO MY FACE THE WILEY X GLASSES SHIELDED MY EYES
As a professional firearms instructor I’ve been using Wiley X products for nearly a decade. During the years I also acquired Wiley X products that look like regular sunglasses but provide the same ballistic protection that I demand from my duty protection glasses. As a guest of the Hungarian Police Training center I was given the opportunity to give the AMP-69 grenade launching assault rifle a try. After familiarization and some basic instructions, I fired of the first grenade from the rifles muzzle. The felt recoil was stronger than expected and the optic hit against my Wiley X Twisted glasses I was wearing. What I didn’t realized was the fact, that the internal recoil buffer broke in the moment the grenade was ignited, a vast part of the stock vanished inside the receiver and the optic transferred the full force of the recoil to my face. Despite the blunt trauma and some injuries to my face the Wiley X glasses shielded my eyes from the otherwise fatal impact and I remained fully operational, continuing to fire off another three grenades. After the drill and some minor first aid we inspected the Wiley X Twisted and the carbine. The rubber cover on the optic was shredded by the impact while the Twisted just sported a very small, dark spot on the frame. Although the brutal force of the impacted on a pretty large area the glasses never felt out of the frame. I’m convinced that the Wiley X Twisted saved my right eye from a very grave injury and kept me going despite a fatal malfunction to the firearm I was using.

THANKS FOR MAKING A QUALITY PRODUCT AND SAVING MY EYEBALL
I recently purchased your 'Brick' style sunglasses specifically for the impact protection the lenses provide. The first day in use, I was on a training day with my motor and dumped the bike in a turn. As I jumped free, my knee hit the windshield, which was fixed in place with plastic 'breakaway' bolts. The bolts did their job and broke to save the windshield, but the bolt heads flew all directions. One forcefully struck the lens of my glasses and was deflected, leaving a long scratch. Thanks for making a quality product and saving my eyeball.
YOUR WILEY X BRICK GLASSES TOOK THE IMPACT AND SAVED MY FACE FROM BEING BADLY HURT
I have never written a letter like this. I am 63 years old, a past officer of the law and a veteran of the military, Vietnam 1969 and 1970. I recently retired as a manager from a large corporation after 27 years.
I am not easily excited and impressed by products or services. I expect both as a customer.
I have purchased your Wiley X glasses and used them as a motorcyclist. I have worn many types and styles of eyewear. I have been a motorcyclist for 51 years;, 1 Kawasaki, 2 Hondas, 14 Harley Davidson’s and additional motorcycles as a Police Officer. I have never worn a more comfortable or better performing pair of glasses.
On July 28, 2012 I was with 29 other motorcyclists and involved in a personal injury accident. My Harley flipped 3 times, traveling 45 miles per hour. I was thrown from my Harley face first into the pavement. My knees, forearms and face were the first to impact. I was not wearing a helmet. Your Wiley X Brick glasses (upper left side) took the impact and saved my face from being badly hurt. The glasses are still useable, no damage to the frame. The glasses never came off.
I am excited and impressed with your product. All of my friends, bikers, know your product now. My optician will know too when my next appointment comes up.
SAVING MY EYESIGHT
My name is Nathan, and I was involved in a flash fire in an oil field in October 2010. I got second and third degree burns on 23% of my body, my face, neck, ears, both arms (from shoulder to finger tips), a few spots on my back, and both upper legs. Luckily I had purchased a pair of Wiley X safety glasses, which saved my eyes! The doctors were amazed at the fact that my glasses never melted, broke, or even cracked, they remained on my face the whole time I was on fire.

IF I HAD NOT BEEN WEARING PROTECTIVE SHOOTING GLASSES, MY EYES WOULD PROBABLY HAVE TAKEN PERMANENT DAMAGE
I was posted at the end of a pheasant drive. In the distance I could see the dog handlers starting the drive. The drive was long, and to block the wind I tucked my neck in my jersey, put on my cap and my hood. The only thing left open in my face was my eyes, but they were covered by a pair of Wiley X shooting glasses. The drive was slowly approaching. Several pheasants were shot in the drive. When the dog handlers were within 80-100 meters of me, a pheasant took off and the sound of gunfire broke the silence. The shooter had not seen that I was on a post in front of him, and he shot directly towards me. The hail cracked against the tree behind me and at my face. The shocked shooter ran to me. Luckily I could inform him that in spite of the tremendous shock I got, when the hail cracked against my glasses, I was alright. Of course the experience was no fun for neither of us. I am sure that if I had not been wearing protective shooting glasses, my eyes would probably have taken permanent damage. As a final closure of the day the organizer of the hunt announced that from that day on, shooting glasses would always be required in the hunts to come. My appeal to all is – wear shooting glasses – they can save your sight…

I´M ABLE TO SEE THE PROFILE OF THE RIVER BOTTOM AND FISH REACTIONS TO MY LURE
I have been wearing Wiley X glasses for several seasons and I´m absolutely satisfied with them. Before I began using the Wiley X glasses, I needed to wear many alternative glasses with many different colors of polarized lenses, but since I began using Wiley X , I don’t need to change models all the time, because the colors Wiley X uses is appropriate for various fishing conditions. The great quality of the polarized filter and the Wiley X anti-fog system is totally necessary for my favorite trout spinning on clear waters. Thanks to it, I´m able to see the profile of the river bottom and fish reactions to my lure comfortably. Last but not least the Wiley X eyewear selection gives me the feeling of eye safety and protection. I´m looking forward to closer co-operation with Wiley X and I hope that we will make few refinements or new models together.

THANK YOU WILEY X FOR MAKING SUCH A STRONG, AWESOME, AND AFFORDABLE PRODUCT
On Dec. 4th 2006 I was was on a routine supply mission in the turret of my HMMWV when it was rocked by a 300# I.E.D. My right eardrum was blown out and perforated, I sustained a class 3 concussion/traumatic brain injury, and lots of frag to the right side of my face. Since I was wearing my WILEY X SG-1 goggles, not a single piece of shrapnel made its way into my eye. The lens was so pitted that I could no longer see through it. If I had not been wearing my SG-1 goggles, not only would I be blind, but the doctors at T.Q. Airbase said I would have lost my right eye entirely. THANK YOU WILEY X for making such a strong, awesome, and affordable product because I owe your company my ability to see.

I WANT TO AGAIN THANK YOU FOR PROVIDING THE PUBLIC WITH A FANTASTIC PRODUCT THAT IS
It was a pleasure...sharing my story about how WileyX saved my eyesight from the horrible motorcycle accident I was in.
My boyfriend bought me these glasses last Christmas and was raving about what a wonderful pair of sunglasses they were and how proud he was to have purchased them for me. I wore them all the time! Best pair of glasses I ever wore!
October 22, 2011 my boyfriend and I were in a terrible motorcycle accident. I hit the pavement face first, skid across the street and fractured the whole left side of my face. These sunglasses stayed on my face the entire time protecting my eyes as you can clearly see from the picture. ..you to see just how much damage was done and your sunglasses saved my EYES!
I have had total reconstructive surgery to the whole left side of my face. My surgeon rebuilt my entire orbital eye socket and I got a new nose! I am feeling good and healing fine.
I want to again thank you for providing the public with a fantastic product that is pure quality! I am proud to say I was wearing my Wileys!

IT’S A GREAT THING WILEY-X HAS DONE BY SUPPORTING US: PVA RACING TEAM
I just wanted to extend a huge thank you to the Wiley-X Company for the great pair of sunglasses (Saber Advanced). I have been using them since the Para-Cycling Nationals in Augusta, Ga. Before I always had problems with trash, rain, and sweat getting in my eyes while cycling, but now I have no problem seeing. The glasses are great, I can’t say it enough. I had a pair when I was in Iraq and they work the same here as they did out there. I use them for everything I do. Mainly cycling because they fit perfect under my helmet and I have a choice of three different lenses. Again Thanks for the sunglasses that help me see from the start of the race to the finish of each race. I will never use another brand of sunglasses again. It’s a great thing Wiley-X has done by supporting us: PVA Racing Team. Thank you,
SGT/USMC Disabled Athlete
THE ANSWER IS ALWAYS THE SAME THEY CANNOT COMPETE WITH MY WILEY X GLASSES
What I have learnt over the last four years of using my Wiley X sunglasses is just how reassuringly good they are, I am forever out of curiosity doing comparison tests with anglers I meet on my travels by swapping their sunglasses for mine to see how they measure up to fish spotting. The answer is always the same they quite simply cannot compete with my Wiley X glasses, nothing has come close in fact, couple that with the ultimate eye protection and the classy looks and you have the ultimate combination in my opinion.
When you have a world class game angler of the calibre of my old friend Charles Jardine saying they are the best then that says enough because in the game fishing world fish spotting is a massive element of that arm of our sport, only the best will do. Tight lines.

IN THE FUTURE I WILL ALWAYS BE WEARING SAFETY APPROVED SHOOTING EYEWEAR
I was on a hunt by the North Sea in Denmark. The hunters were walking in a straight line when two deer suddenly jumped up and started running towards me. At the moment the deer were passing me a hunter on my left fired his shotgun. I quickly threw myself to the ground screaming at him to stop firing. When I got up again the hunter fired yet another shot at a different deer, as it passed near me. He missed the deer but not my left eye. The shot reduced the sight on my left eye by 95%. After several surgical operations my eye healed successfully but my eyesight never improved. The pellet is still embedded behind my eye but luckily it didn’t reach my brain, which would have made things far more serious. Since the accident I have often suffered from headaches and I have to wear sunglasses most of the time. I’m getting used to having only one good eye, but it demands a lot more movement of my head when trying to get an overview. I have not lost my passion for hunting but I have had to teach myself to shoot from the opposite side. In the future I will always be wearing safety approved shooting eyewear to secure my remaining eyesight, if disaster should strike again.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT WILEY X
Thank you for the opportunity to utilize the Wiley X Glasses (Saber Advanced) that Wiley X was so generous to support.
As a cyclist, I take extreme care in protecting my vision especially since having lost vision in my right eye from combat wounds. What impressed me most about the glasses were it's ability not to fog during raining and humid sessions during rides. This is important because I would of have to have removed my other glasses to see with the limited field of view that I have. I also like the wide protection across the eyes that the glasses have in this particular model. Protecting my eyes from rocks, bugs and the elements is crucial to me as a cyclist.
I have been training and racing with them since June and I feel they are a great addition to me gear.
Thank you for your support Wiley X

YOU’VE EARNED ANOTHER LIFELONG CUSTOMER
I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you. I was in a motorcycle accident in April, 2009. I was wearing an open-face helmet with prescription Wiley X Brick protective glasses when a car made a left turn in front of me. I T-boned the car at 45 mph and was ejected off my bike, through its windshield, over the car, and into the intersection. The windshield of my motorcycle struck my face at the bridge of my nose. The force of the impact was absorbed by the nose-piece and frame of my glasses, deflecting the windshield up into my forehead. While it took 21 stitches to close my forehead and scalp, my eyes survived the accident thanks to the glasses deflecting the major impact. The fire department recovered my glasses, albeit in three pieces. The bottom line; I'm riding once again instead of learning to live without my eyesight. Thank you Wiley X for making such fine protective eyewear. You’ve earned another lifelong customer.

MY WILEY X SHOOTING GLASSES PROBABLY SAVED MY EYES
My Wiley X shooting glasses probably saved my eyes. I was invited to a small game hunt nearby the German city Gräpel. I was excited about the hunt, because the area usually offers plenty of game. The weather was against us - a thick fog hanging over the area. Due to the weather the safety on the parole had been increased, so low shooting was banned – even so it almost ended fatally for me. I was placed on a bridge over a channel with a railing as my only cover. After a slow start the drive turned in our favour. The fog was so thick that I could see neither hunters nor beaters, and a deer passed close by me without even noticing me. Suddenly a bunch of pheasants took off and the shots fell close, I could feel how pellets hit my jacket, my face and my Wiley X shooting glasses. Luckily for me I had acquired my shooting glasses earlier in the autumn. I don’t know if the glasses saved my eyes, but luckily I don’t have to think about that now. To me they saved my eyes, and I will NEVER go hunting or clay shooting without them again.

IF IT WAS NOT FOR THE QUALITY OF THE EYEWEAR I WAS WEARING I COULD HAVE LOST MY VISION
In 2008 I was stationed overseas during OIF/OEF with the U.S. Army. One afternoon we went on Patrol and my convoy was struck by a IED. I took some scrap metal to the face and since I was wearing my Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) my vision was spared. During the event I was wearing a pair of Wiley X Glasses and if it was not for the quality of the eyewear I was wearing I could have lost my vision.
THE LEVEL OF POLARIZATION HAS HELPED ME TO SEE FAR FURTHER
Like so many anglers I rely heavily on my sight, but as a glasses wearer find it very hard to find a pair of suitable fishing glasses. I love the Wiley X brand; they offer superb features and safety aspects for all anglers so when I was offered a prescription version I jumped at the chance. I couldn’t be more impressed!
The level of polarization has helped me to see far further into the water than ever before while giving me the assurance of absolute protection.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRODUCT, IT SAVED MY HAND AND ALLOWED ME TO CONTINUE THE FIGHT
Dear Wiley X, I am currently deployed to Iraq. During a fire fight I was wounded, getting shot in the hand by an AK-47 round. Thankfully I was wearing your CAG-1 gloves. After the mission I was rushed to the hospital. The doctor told me that if I had not been wearing your gloves that I would have lost my whole hand when instead I just got tissue and ligament damage. Thank you for your product, it saved my hand and allowed me to (after a large amount of healing time) continue the fight over here. Thank you again
